Brief description of role

We are seeking a Production Procurement & Asset Planner, to support our growing production team. This role owns the strategic procurement, asset utilisation analysis, and futurekit availability planning that keeps CineArk’s production office running smoothly. You’ll ensure the right equipment is available for upcoming hires, identify shortages early, evaluate purchase options, and work closely with our engineering department to ensure new builds and refurbishments are completed in time for confirmed jobs. Your goal will be to keep CineArk’s rental fleet commercially sharp, technically current, and operationally ready.

Role and Responsibilities:

Forecasting & Availability Planning
  • Future hire analysis — Review upcoming bookings, longform productions, and tentative enquiries to identify kit shortages or conflicts.
  • Shortage flagging — Proactively alert management and operations when stock levels or availability windows are at risk.
  • Scenario modelling — Run best/worstcase scenarios for overlapping hires, seasonal demand, and highrisk categories.
Strategic Procurement
  • Vendor engagement — Source quotes, negotiate pricing, and maintain relationships with manufacturers and distributors.
  • Purchase proposals — Build business cases for new kit purchases, including ROI, utilisation forecasts, and competitive analysis.
  • Endoflife alternatives — Identify replacement models when equipment is discontinued or no longer serviceable.
  • Cost benchmarking — Compare pricing across suppliers and track historical spend.
Asset Utilisation & Fleet Intelligence
  • Utilisation reporting — Analyse utilisation rates across all fixed assets to inform purchasing, retirement, and refurbishment decisions.
  • Lifecycle tracking — Monitor asset age, service history, and depreciation to guide longterm planning.
  • Fleet optimisation — Recommend redistribution, bundling, or decommissioning of underperforming assets.
CrossDepartment Collaboration
  • Engineering coordination — Work with the engineering team to ensure new builds, custom rigs, and repairs are completed ahead of job deadlines.
  • Operations alignment — Partner with bookings, warehouse, and production office teams to maintain accurate availability data.
  • Inventory accuracy — Support stocktake cycles and ensure system data reflects realworld asset status.

Candidate Requirements:

  • Proven experience in procurement, rental operations, production equipment, or broadcast/film technology.
  • Strong understanding of camera, grip, lighting, RF, monitoring, and datahandling equipment.
  • Ability to interpret utilisation data and turn it into actionable recommendations.
  • Commercial awareness: ROI modelling, cost comparison, and supplier negotiation.
  • Excellent communication skills for crossteam coordination.
  • Comfortable working in a fastpaced environment with shifting timelines.

Key Attributes

  • Forwardthinking — Always scanning ahead for shortages, risks, and opportunities.
  • Detaildriven — Accuracy in availability planning and procurement documentation.
  • Commercially minded — Balances cost, performance, and longterm value.
  • Technically curious — Keeps up with industry trends and emerging technologies.
